The 1.2 Update for the farming sim Coral Island just got released, featuring the highly anticipated multiplayer mode.

Multiplayer

4 total players can join a same session: farm, forage in the mine and grow crops twice as fast with other players and have fun in the festival mini-games together
Crossplay multiplayer: Steam players can play with both PlayStation and Xbox players, but players from each consoles can’t
Mutiple settings: decor mode and architect mode can be either customized by the owner, the host, or everyone. Same for how many is gained and distributed among players.

Romance

All romanceable NPCs now go up to heart level 15
You can now marry and have children with another player
New hangout events for the dateable characters

Other

3 new levels of upgrades for your farm, barn and coops
A new festival: the Spooky Festival: a special occasion where all the residents will get into their best costume for the night

A special collaboration with Funguys Swarm, an Early Access action roguelike game has also been revealed. If you buy the game, you’ll unlock exclusive redeemable in-game goodies in Coral Island including a new outfit, a chest recipe and a mythical pet.

Stairway Team also answered some questions in their latest post on Steam where we learn that the Switch version is still a work in progress and that the next big update is scheduled for the second half of 2025
