Since update 2.8 [Golden Dust] for Infinity Nikki came out, we now have the option to toggle on or off special effects. Those can be seen on some pieces on 5-star limited banners, usually on the accesories or on the dresses. Before, they were seen negatively because their colors could only be dyed if you unlocked the final evolution. The worst case was with the 2.1 outfit [Forest Ripple] that has five different effects.
This single-handedly deinfluenced a lot of people to pull on certain banners or to get certain pieces. But now that we have the freedom to hide or show them, this gives a whole new perspective on previous and future sets. So I thought that it would be a good idea to sum up in a single article every pieces with special effects that we’ve gotten so far.
It’s a list prone to errors because Infold never fully disclose when they announce a banner which piece has a special effect. I had to look at promotional videos and see if there were glows on certain pieces of the outfits, and look at my own wardrobe for sets I own. Some special effects are really noticeable, while others are not visible at all. I also thought it would be fun to see the evolution of their usage. It’s interesting to see that some outfits have none, while others have a lot!
Rippling Reverie (2.7) | 5 pieces with special effect

I might be wrong here since I don’t own every pieces of the outfit. The water effect from the tighs, gloves and dress don’t qualify as special effects though.
Guide of No Return (2.5) | 4 pieces with special effect

Floral Rebirth (2.5) | 1 piece with special effect

The special effect is only visible when the piece is in the collar form, not the veil form.
She is Wildfire (2.4) | 2 pieces with special effect

Dreamtime Bestowed (2.3) | 2 pieces with special effect

Where Wanxiang Weaves (2.2) | 4 pieces with special effect

Chroma’s Mortal Heart (2.2) | 4 pieces with special effect

Forest Ripple (2.1) | 5 pieces with special effect

The number of special effects when the banner of Forest Ripple was released was hugely critiziced at that time. Good thing we can now hide those!
Born Flawless (2.0) | 4 pieces with special effect

Nameless, Selfless (1.11) | 4 pieces with special effect

The shoes and earrings have a flame effect that you can now remove. Same for the handheld which you can get once you complete Nameless, Selfless outfit (though it looks a bit weird without it).
Rainfall & Blossoms (1.10) | 1 pieces with special effect

Echoed Dreams (1.9) | 3 pieces with special effect

The effects are most noticeable on the hair accessory and handheld for Echoed Dreams. For the dress, they are located at the bottom. The actual “champagne” effect on the bottom of the dress isn’t removable though, it’s just the glow surrounding it.
Clouded Loong (1.8) | 4 pieces with special effect

Forever Bond (1.8) | 4 pieces with special effect

Tide of Tears (1.7) | 1 pieces with special effect

Enchanted Encounter (1.6) | 2 pieces with special effect

To be honest I have no idea what the special effect for the dress is supposed to be lol, but there is a toggle for it in the game somehow…
Crimson Feather (1.5) | 2 pieces with special effect

Both pieces have flame special effects.
Snowy Ballad (1.5) | 1 piece with special effect

I don’t own the outfit, but I would assume that the fishes and the bubles are a special effects?
