Infinity Nikki 1.x Analysis: Eureka Sets

Eureka Sets is a free way to make your outfits in Infinity Nikki look more fancy. Since they each are really distinct from each other and have, just like 5 stars outfits, 5 color variations, I got curious and wanted to analyze the Eureka Sets we’ve got so far from 1.0 to 1.11.

(this is a lot of ramblings, and I had a hard time organizing my ideas and findings ><)

Total of Eureka Sets in 1.x

We had 27 Eureka Sets (16 [5★], 5 [4★], 6 [3★]). Each patch with a new zone like [1.2], [1.5] and [1.8] added 4 new Eureka Sets each time. With the exception of the [1.8] patch, where we got on top of that the special limited set Moon Laurel Rabbit which was a collaboration.

Each Attribute was well distributed among the different level of quality, we just got 1 more Sweet and Fresh Eurekas compared to Elegant, Cool and Sexy which just got 5 Eureka Sets. Moon Laurel Rabbit had the Sweet attribute and we can deduce it since it was just a collaboration.

Infinity Nikki Eureka Sets connection to 5 stars outfits

Some Eureka Sets clearly seems inspired or linked to certain outfits and followed their pattern of colors, and the iridescent Eureka matched with the [5★] 3rd evolution. If the Eureka Set didn’t always match in appearance or colors, it sometimes matched with the labels of the [5★] limited banner.

But starting from 1.8, this pattern was ceased. New eurekas do seem to be connected to the new [5★] limited banners for their overall theme only, not the colors.

Since 1.5 introduced the dye system, this could be another incentive to push players to dye their outfits (and get more evolutions to unlock more palettes). I can’t say how common it is for players to try to match their outfits with the Eurekas though. I personnally never used them! But Eureka sets do offer a free way to enhance your outfit, especially if they are in the same colorwave.

Special effects accessories instead of matching Eureka Sets

The 1.5 also introduced outfits with special effects that can only be dyed once you get the 3rd evolution. And the glow that they have actually looks like Eureka sets, with some pieces actually looking like Eurekas. Before, you could “enhance” and adds depth to your outfits easily by adding Eurekas. But now, you’ll have to pull for them and if you feel too limited by their colors, get the evolutions of the outfit.

This is also for Infold a way to get around the implicit 10 pieces max limitation for [5★] after the 1.5 boycott. To make the new suits worthy and actually look like [5★], they added those special effects and made Eureka Sets less coherent. In other words, you can’t really use matching Eurekas to make your outfit more fancy, or else you’ll need to get the evolutions to match with it.

If I take the example of [Forever Bond], the matching Eureka Set is the Moon Lotus. The only Eureka’s version who kind of matches the colors of the outfit is the one you unlock with the 1st evolution.

Infinity Nikki Eureka Sets from 1.x with no matching outfits

As of now, 6 Eureka Sets remains without their matching sets: Rayplume [1.0], Void Hunt [1.2], Swaying Lotus, Rose Heart [1.5], Sunshower Trip and Book of Life [1.8]. Coincidentally, they each have different style. Maybe these are the basic Eureka Sets that weren’t created based on another [5★]. Or it could be that Infold scrapped some [5★], or that we’ll actually get them later on. [Threads of Reunion] is still a unreleased Miracle Outfit, and it has the Cool Style. So it could be a match to the Void Hunt Eureka Set. I still doubt that these Eureka Sets have no outfits linked to them, because their designs and their little stories must have come from somewhere!

Some Eureka Sets have a matching attribute with their linked outfit, while some don’t. But Eurekas always share the same attributes as the double banner of the patch. The Eureka Sets with no matching sets are actually those who don’t have the same attribute as one of the dual banner limited outfit. In [1.0], Rayplume had the Retro attribute while [Blooming Dreams] had Fairy and Fantasy attributes and [Flutter Storm] had Ballroom and Romance. But those two outfits actually had a match with two other Eureka Sets.

The label of those Eureka Sets could still be a great indicator for theories. Rayplume in [1.0] had the retro label, and in 1.3 [Timeless Melody] was released. Void Hunt in [1.2] with the adventure label preceded [Tide of Tears] that we got during [1.7]. But this isn’t consistent.

What’s next for Infinity Nikki Eureka Sets?

Since Eureka Sets now don’t follow the same color palettes as their matching [5★], maybe we’ll get a dye system for Eurekas…? Or if you unlock the full outfit or the evolutions, then you’ll get the matching Eureka for it.

In the [2.2] livestream, Infold introduced a new incentive to snatch evolutions for limited banners. They will slowly make different versions of the prop you unlock at 160 pulls to make it match in colors with each evolution. The same idea could be applied to Eureka Sets. But Infold never really made it obvious that some Eureka Sets were extensions of outfits, so maybe this will never happen! Though they seem to be racking their brain to find new ways to make the first and second evolution seem more worth it to players, so we’ll see…
